    Description
The FTBx-730D is the OTDR of choice for field technicians who need to accurately test through splitters and troubleshoot FTTH networks down to the finest details.

The FTBx-730D OTDR is optimized to test through optical splitters and characterize FTTH links. Field technicians can characterize and troubleshoot links 132 km point-to-point (P2P) thanks to its dynamic range of up to 39 dB.

    The FTBx-730D advantage
    1.   The highest resolution for PON testing and the shortest PON dead zone to find more problems closer to the splitter than any other OTDR.
    2.   Proven industry-leading performance in characterizing double-stage splitters and closely spaced events.
    3.   User-friendly graphical user interface.

    Key features
    1.   Dynamic range up to 39 dB for up to 132 km P2P
    2.   Support high port count PON splitters (up to 1×128)
    3.   Short dead zones: event dead zone (EDZ) = 0.5 m; attenuation dead zone (ADZ) = 2.2 m; PON dead zone = 30 m
    4.   FTTx in-service testing at 1650 nm with optional in-line GPON/XGS-PON power meter
    5.   Swap-Out connector, replaceable whenever necessary for optimal performance over time without undue service cost and downtime
    6.   iOLM-ready: one-touch multiple acquisitions, with clear go/no-go
    7.   3-year warranty

    Applications
    1.   FTTx/PON testing through splitters (up to 1×128)
    2.   FTTx service activation: GPON, EPON, XGS-PON, 10GE EPON
    3.   Access network testing (P2P)
    4.   Metro links testing (P2P)
    5.   Live fiber troubleshooting
    6.   Passive optical LAN (POL)

    FTBx-730D PON FTTx/MDU OTDR
OPTIMIZED FOR FTTx/MDU FIBER DEPLOYMENTS AND TROUBLESHOOTING
The perfect tool for field technicians who need to seamlessly characterize splitters in PON FTTx and MDU applications.

LOADED WITH FEATURES TO BOOST YOUR EFFICIENCY

    Real-time averaging
Activates the OTDR laser in continuous shooting mode, the trace refreshes in real time and allows to monitor the fiber for a sudden change. Perfect for a quick overview of the fiber under test.

    Zoom tools
Zoom and center to facilitate the analysis of your fibers. Draw a window around the area of interest and center in the screen quicker.

    Set parameters on the fly
Dynamically change OTDR settings for the ongoing acquisition without stopping or returning to submenus.

    Macrobend finder
This built‑in feature enables the unit to automatically locate and identify macrobends, no need to spend further time analyzing the traces.

     Automode
Used as a discovery mode, this feature automatically adjusts the distance range and the pulse width in function of the link under test. It is recommended to adjust the parameters to perform additional measurements to locate other events.

    Bidirectional analysis
Recommended to ensure true splice characterization, bidirectional analysis combines results from both directions to provide an average loss for each event. For a more complete event characterization, use intelligent Optical Link Mapper (iOLM) and benefit from maximum resolution on both directions (multiple pulse widths at multiple wavelengths) as well as a consolidated view.

    SWAP-OUT CONNECTOR
The OTDR D‑Series comes with a Swap‑Out connector which can easily be changed, as and when needed, without having to send the test unit to a service center. This ensures optimal performance over time without undue maintenance costs and downtime. The OTDR’s optical connector health can be checked with an onboard diagnostic tool to replace the connector only when necessary.

Maintain top optical performance, no downtime.
Worn connectors impact optical performance and may be the source of inaccuracies. Replace connectors directly from the field, no need to return the unit to the manufacturer or spend money on repairs.

Keep your calibration plan on track.
Your calibration date remains valid, even after swapping the connector. No need to calibrate your unit sooner than planned.

    Replace only when needed.
A diagnosis of the optical port is provided by the built-in connector health checker, which allows to replace worn connectors in the field, only when necessary
